There is a new front being opened on the ratings debate.
An insider alleges that the Public Finance (municipal) department of Moody’s didn’t do any surveillance of the issues it rated.
This is new and alarming information, if proven true.
The facts cannot be denied, however, that the credit quality of municipal bonds far surpasses that of corporate bonds.
These new allegations need to be investigated.
